Dear Frank and Debbie,
I would like to extend to the both of you and all family members involved my deepest sympathies for the loss of Lyda Washburn. It has been truly gratifying to get to know Mr. and Mrs. Washburn over the past many Christmas Eves at the Cockerham home. Watching the same Christmas movie every year and staying up late trying to figure out how to put together toys for the kids gave me an opportunity to see the love and caring extended by the Washburn family. As I told Debbie many of the traits which Lyda embodied such as genuineness and caring will live on because Debbie possesses all of them.
Frank and Debbie, may the joyful memory of Lyda be a comfort to the both of you in the many days ahead,
Love,
Doug Maslanka

I got to know Lyda WAY BACK in the 50s - she/family lived across the street from my grandmother. She always had a gorgeous smile and sweet spirit. I will miss her sitting one pew up and one seat over from me on Sunday mornings. I certainly lift you and all your family up to the Lord at this time.

Frank--You and Debbie probably don't remember me, but I did my practice teaching in 1968 under Lyda at West Memphis High School. Then I taught with her for about three years before ya'll moved to Mabelvale. I always thought it was a real shame that she never taught again because she was so good at it. I am in my 40th year of teaching--all at West Memphis--so she was a real inspiration to me. I am so sorry for your loss; you are in my thoughts and prayers.
We share your sadness in losing a wonderful wife and Mother. Her faith in the church will be remember by all and rewarded as she goes on to her new life.

Frank,
Mike and I are holding your family in our thoughts and prayers at this very sad time. We like to think back to the 'good old days' when we were in NLR and you and Lyda Belle were in LR band directing. Those truly were good days. Please take care,
Mike & Kandi Croom
Your family is in our prayers. Frank has been a blessing, inspiration and mentor to us for years. I sat and talked to several orchestra members at church Sunday...I heard nothing but praise for Lyda. Her life was an inspiration to everyone who knew her. I am sure that the angels in Heaven are rejoicing to have her with them. Please do not hesitate to ask for anything you might need. Prayers are a given!
