Jimmy Gene Elms, of Clarksville, was born July 12, 1937, to his parents in Greenbrier, Arkansas, and passed away October 10, 2008, at Johnson Regional Medical Center in Clarksville, Arkansas, at the age of 71. He was retired from the Clarksville City Department and of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife, Lucy May Dobbs Elms of Clarksville, Arkansas, two sons, Ronnie Elms and wife Martha, and Wendell Elms and wife Tonya, all of Batesville, Arkansas, a step daughter, Pamela A. Smith of Clarksville, Arkansas, a step son, Alan Mize and wife JoAnn of Clarksville, Arkansas, four sisters, Wanda Faye Hawkins, Peggy Holder, and Martha Blanton, all of Batesville, Arkansas, and Betty Barber of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, two brothers, Evan Elms of Batesville, Arkansas, and William Elms of Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Dorr Elms and Jewell Irene Cartwright Elms.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 14, 2008, at Roller Cox Funeral Home in Clarksville, Arkansas with Reverend Amos Pledger officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery in Clarksville. Visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M., Monday, October 13, at Roller Cox Funeral Home.
