Ruby Lee Trainer, 84, of Dumfries, VA, formerly a 30-year resident of Clarksville, TN, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at 6:00 a.m. at her residence as a result of complications from a stroke suffered 10 years previously.

Ms. Trainer was a familiar part of the Clarksville restaurant scene, working at various popular eateries throughout the town. Known by many as "Miss Ruby " she was a customer favorite until her stroke in December of 1997.

She was born March 10, 1924 in Columbus, GA. Mrs. Trainer grew up in Muskogee County, GA, and prior to moving to Clarksville she also lived briefly in West Memphis, AR.

A child of the Great Depression, Mrs. Trainer left school at the age of 15 to help support her family.
In her 60's she retured to school and received her GED, graduating near the top of her adult education class.
Between those two events, she raised three children as a single mother and served as a mentor and inspiration to her colleagues and friends.

Mr. Trainer was married to the late Albert H. Trainer, also of Clarksville, TN.
She is survived by her son, J. Wayne Trusler of Marion, AR; one daughter, Deborah Y. Parker of Dumfries, VA; one brother, Early W. Fincher of Middleton, TN; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday September 18 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis, AR, and services will be held at 12:00 noon Friday, September 19 in Roller-Citizens Funeral Home Chapel with interment following at Crittenden Memorial Park Cemetery in Marion, AR.
