My mom and dad were good friends with the Woodsmalls. I would appreciate if you could pass my email or cell to Mary or Margaret Woodsmall. We would love to connect with them after many years. Cell - 404.516.4569
Thank you.
I had the high honor of serving alongside CDR Woodsmall while station aboard the USS VULCAN AR-5, in Norfolk, Virginia, from 1977-1979. I was a Navy Dental Technician, and I was Dr. Woodsmall's chairside assistant during that time. Dr. Woodsmall gave me a nick name that followed me throughout my Naval career, "Boot Brown. "
Dr. Woodsmall was a true Southern Gentalman. He treated everyone he met with dignity and respect. The entire Dental Department held Dr. Woodsmall to a very high level of respect.
But, Dr. Woodsmall was more than that. He was constantly sharing family tales with me. "Mary Margrete this, and Mary Margrete that. " Mrs. Woodsmall, your husband worshiped you and the kids. He would tell me about his children. What a proud dad he was!!
I will forever be appreciative to Dr. Woodsmall for setting me on a path in my Naval career that would guide me through my retirement from the Navy. I was raised orphaned at an early age, and Dr. Woodsmall was a towering figure in this years, and in many ways, became a Father figure to me, teaching me tools of life I still practice today.
Rest in pease CDR Woodsmall. I will ALEAYS remember you.
Boot Brown
I just wanted to say Thank You to everyone who has touched Dads life. He was a very proud man and loved his family more than anything. The void left in our lives will never be filled. I look back over the years and cherish all the memories made. I hope everyone realizes just how much it meant for each of you to be a part of Dads life. Thank you for the prayers and as time passes I hope that God can ease the pain of our loss.
Love, Michael
