Lee--My thoughts and prayers go out to You, Susan, and your mother. I remember all the great nights of shooting hoops with you and Wally, and all of the great conversations. Wally was certainly a great guy. The Best To All Of You.

Met Wally and Lee as a very young child. We lived next door and would hear Wally get scolded by his mom in Ukranian (Greek to me), then SHE would clean the fish. How he got her to do that is still a mystery to me. It was my 1st exposure to fishing ever. Again met Wally about 4 years ago or 48 yrs. later, on Norfork lake walleye fishing. After seeing/talking with him so many times, finally asked where from in IL (boat license IL) he was from. Finding out that he went to Eisenhower and I went to Stephen Decatur, stopped the conversation until one day I told him my name. After hearing his, it all came back. Asked him if he was the South Illinois St. Boyko's, Yeh, he said. Brother named Lee? Baseball - Decatur Commodores? Wally was very surprised that I remembered so many details, knew the house but didn't remember the single mom and 2 small boys who lived next door. Little kids always look up, with big kids not looking down as much. We shared pretty much the same passion of fishing. Except I didn't get away with the skipping school part. Last fall, was the last time I saw Wally, could tell by his color something was not right, we never talked about that, just fishing and his trip to Tunica. Will keep listening for the 275 Verado coming Wally! Jim Tapscott

I had learned a lot from Wally while working with him at CN. He was always very quick and always had something to say. Thank you for everything and farewell my friend!

I am saddened to hear of Wally's death. He was a good buddy all through grade school and high school. Lee, you have my sincere sympathy.

Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. Sorry for your loss.

Wally and I were great neighborhood pals growing up in Decatur. This was quite a shock. I will miss him and his annual visits to Decatur.

I have many good memories of Wally from Mobile in the 1980's through his retirement when as Car Account Manager for CN we worked closely. My sympathy to Wally's family , friends and associates in Mountain Home.

Lee, Dawn and I are thinking of you and Susan during this time. You know that I'll help you any way I can. Brent
