Nicky Yopp, 53, of Sulphur Rock died Sunday, February 17, 2008 at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
He was born January 27, 1955 in Shreveport, Louisiana the son of Billy Yopp and Wanda (Qualls) Yopp.
He was a graduate of Sulphur Rock High School and attended Arkansas State University for 3 years. He and Debbie Martin were married June 14, 1980 and were married for 27 years. He retired from the United States Air Force after 21 years of service. While in the military he served in Desert Storm and Desert Shield in Turkey and Saudi Arabia. Upon retiring from the military, he worked for the Grimes Arkansas Department of Corrections in Newport. He enjoyed his family, hunting, his dogs, and was most proud of serving his country.
He is survived by his wife Debbie Yopp of Sulphur Rock; parents, Bill and Wanda Yopp of Sulphur Rock; a sister Ramona Moser of Sulphur Rock; a nephew, Trā Lee of Tallahassee, Florida; and a niece, Jade Moser of Sulphur Rock.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Raymond and Agnes Qualls and paternal grandparents, Paul and Ruth Wegert.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at Sulphur Rock Baptist Church at Sulphur Rock.
Pallbearers are Trā Lee, Randall Cole, Ricky Pool, Danny Thomason, Ryan Martin, and Church Martin. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Mohit Narang, Dr. Steve Alexander, Gary Yopp, Bobby Qualls, Verneil Qualls, Charles Yopp, Don Pool, and Bill Qualls, Sr.
Burial will follow the services at Wyatt Cemetery in Rosie under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, February 18, 2008.

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Yopp, Ramona, & Debbie, extended family & friends, I am so so so sorry. I had been hoping for another school reunion to reconnect with all the kids from Sulphur Rock, I haven't seen Nick since not too long after we graduated.
