George G. Solida, 66, of Bradford passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2005 at White County Hospital in Searcy.
He was born on September 5, 1939 in Denmark, Arkansas, the son of Henry Solida and Mayma C. (Alexander) Solida. He was a retired self-employed carpenter who began doing carpentry work at the age of 16. He was a member of the Cornerstone #511 Free and Accepted Masons; of the Scimitar Shriner's Temple of Little Rock; of the Scimitar Temple Whitewood Shrine Club; and he was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 21 years.
George is survived by his wife, Erma D. (Hardin) Solida of the home; two sons: George J. Solida of Pleasant Plains and Troy K. Solida of Bradford; two daughters: Sherry Bolden of Bradford and Patricia Solida also of Bradford. Other survivors include three brothers: J. H. Solida of Heber Springs, Guy Solida of Plano, Texas and Jerry Solida of Pleasant Plains; and two sisters: Lucille Dickerson of Pangburn and Margie Reeves of Bald Knob. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be George J. Solida, Harvey Castor, James Grider, Brent Henderson and Wendel Lewallen.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday at the Sunnyside Cemetery outside of Bradford.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM of Friday at Roller Crouch Funeral Home in Batesville.
