Willis Elva Rogers, 89 of Dardanelle, Arkansas, died Tuesday, February 5, 2008 in Dardanelle. He was born March 1, 1918 in Lead Hill, Arkansas to his parents, Thomas F. and Callie (Grady) Rogers. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
He served in the Army during WWII in Normandy, Rhineland, Northern France, and Central Europe earning the Good Conduct Medal, American Service Ribbon EAME Service Ribbon and four Bronze Service Stars.
He is survived by his wife, Opal Allene (Jones) Rogers of Dardanelle; two sons, Mike Rogers and wife Kandy, of Dardanelle, and Steven W. Rogers and wife Vickie of Clarksville, Arkansas; one daughter, Sharlene Rogers of Dardanelle; four grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was a graveside service at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 9, 2008 at the Brearley Cemetery in Dardanelle, Arkansas with Mike Ames officiating.
