Deanna Bray Tharp
of Floral, AR
April 23, 1962 - October 10, 2008 Deanna (Bray) Tharp, 46, of Floral died Friday, October 10, 2008 at a hospital in Searcy, losing her battle with cancer surrounded by family and friends. She was born April 23, 1962 in Wichita, Kansas to Lucius and Bobbie (Lake) Bray. Deanna graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1980 and furthered her education by graduating from Lyon College. She enjoyed shopping and being with friends and going to the lake. She married Freddie Tharp on April 30, 1982 and together they had three wonderful sons, Brayden, Bryson and Keagan. Deanna taught school at Midland Elementary and White County Central School for eight years and gave up teaching to help Freddie with the family business, Tharp Pallet Company, as a bookkeeper. Deanna loved being involved in school and church activities with Midland School and Floral Baptist Church reaping her creative talents and devotion. She especially enjoyed going on trips to visit friends and family in Maine. Deanna was a loving, strong, compassionate, and energetic person who was always there for a friend. She was a member of the Floral Baptist Church where she also taught a Sunday School class. Deanna this poem is for you from your Aunt Joanna: “I listened as the preacher spoke at the funeral of my best friend. He told of the dates of her birth and death from the beginning to the end. He noted the things she loved to do as our eyes all filled with tears. But then he said what matters most was her space between those years. For that space represents all the time she spent alive on earth. And now the ones that love her know what that small space was worth. For it matters not how much we own, the cars… the house…the waste. What matters is how we live and love and how we use our space. The memories that we made with her we’ll cherish and try to smile, remembering that her special space only lasted a little while. So now, Deanna, you can rest with a smile upon your face, knowing we’ll all be together again and share a never ending space.” She is survived by her husband, Freddie Tharp of the home; parents: Lucius and Bobbie Bray of Mount Pleasant; three sons: Brayden Tharp and his wife, Vanessa of Floral; Bryson Tharp of Floral and Keagan Tharp of the home; her grandmother, Gertrude Lake of Houlton, Maine; one brother, Barry Bray of Mount Pleasant. Other survivors include many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
