Eulas "Pete" O. Gibson 
October 22, 1923 - September 22, 2008

Eulas “Pete” Gibson, 84, of Jonesboro died Monday at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro.

He was born in Jonesboro, Arkansas into the family of Walter and Lucy Gibson. He was a farmer and also was employed by the USDA for several years. He was a deacon at Big Creek Valley Baptist Church and was a member of Jonesboro Association of Missionary Baptist Brotherhood. He loved fishing and hunting and was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby Gibson of the home; two sons, Glen Gibson of Pope, Mississippi and Terry Gibson of Jonesboro; three grandchildren, Rendy Bishop, Johnny Gibson and Glen Gibson, Jr.; five great-grandchildren, Jordon Young, Hunter Gibson, Nickolas Gibson, Sadi Gibson, and Hadyn Stiener

He is preceded in death by two sons, Eulas Dewayne Gibson and Eulas Byron Gibson; and one grandson, Tag Gibson; three brothers, Claude Gibson, Vester Gibson, and Noel Gibson; and two sisters, Maude Merrell and Opal Keller.

Active pallbearers will include Jack Stevens, Glen Gibson, Jr., Dennis Gibson, Dr. Henry Stroope, Johnny Gibson and Danny Harpole. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Bishop, Rick Lane, and members of Big Creek Valley Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 25, 2008 at 1:00 p.m at Roller-Farmers Union Chapel with Gary Gipson officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home.

Lasting memorials may be made to Big Creek Valley Baptist Church, Gibson Cemetery % Ivaline Moody or Gideon’s International.
