Doris Vernell (Keathley) Johnson, of Greenbrier, 83 years, 10 months, 17 days, (our loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and Sister), went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, June 18th, 2007. She was born August 2nd, 1923, at Mount Vernon Arkansas.

She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Terry Johnson, Caleb Johnson, Tammy Rawe, Stacy Johnson, Rev. Sammie Turner II, Jonathan Turner, and Wesley Turner, thirteen great-grandchildren; Garret Johnson, Miles Johnson, Gavin Johnson, Liam Johnson, Cassie Young, Christopher Young, Rachel Rawe, Tanis Taft, Tori Cockrell, Sammie Turner III, Isaac Turner, Taylor Turner, and Joshua Turner. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Freddie B. Johnson, her grandson Freddy Paul Johnson, her parents Curly C. and Laura Alice (Malcom) Keathley, three brothers, Raymond, Harold, and Roy Keathley, and five sisters, Flora Bell, Lillie Chambers, Noba Elder, Bessie Keathley, and Lorene Noggle.

For the first seventeen years of her life, Vernell lived in the house she was born in. She then married and moved to the Centerville Community, where she resided most of her life. Her life’s goals were to live as a Christian, to put God first in her life, and to raise her family up in church, with strong values and morals. She truly accomplished those things! She loved worshipping God, attending her church and it’s activities, and watching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren participate in those activities. She has been a member of the Foothills Faith Tabernacle Church for the past twenty-nine years. She loved singing gospel songs and had a beautiful alto voice. She has now joined her dear husband in God’s choir!

Pallbearers are: Terry Johnson, Caleb Johnson, Jonathan Turner, Wesley Turner, Mickey Johnson, Ben Johnson, and Bob McDermott.
