Rodger DeWayne McCallister, age 70, of Benton, passed away Friday, May 4, 2012. He was born August 15, 1941 in England, Arkansas to the late Sylvester McCallister and Eula Marie Dardenne McCallister. He retired from Alcoa after 30 years and was a member of Forest Hills Missionary Baptist Church in Benton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Luther McCallister and Edward McCallister, one sister, Lenora Allen, and three nephews, Marvin Darrell McCallister, Eddie Garner, and Jonathan Garner.

Mr. McCallister is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Frances LaNell (Caldwell) McCallister; two sons, Eric McCallister and wife, Sharilyn and Jerrel McCallister and wife, Melody; one daughter, Kay Lee Skaggs and husband, Tony; two sisters, Sue Buggar and Connie Garner and husband, Johnny; two brothers, Marvin McCallister and wife, Sue and Carrell McCallister and wife, Judy; thirteen grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, May 7, 2012 at Forest Hills Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Marcus Blakely and Bro. Cecil Hyde officiating. Interment will follow at New Rosemont Memorial Park in Benton.

Visitation will be from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M. Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home in Benton (501-315-4047).
