Maxine Hines Swan, age 101, of Harrison, passed away on February 19, 2024, in her home surrounded by her family. Maxine was born in Salina, Kansas on November 12, 1922. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle.
When her newly-wed husband went to war in 1941, Maxine went to Wichita and worked in the aircraft industry. She was selected to train as a riveter at Boeing and return to Cessna to train others, then went on to become a data engineer at Beechcraft working with test pilots and test planes. Having lived in Witchita for 60 years, Maxine and Lyle moved to Harrison, Arkansas to be near family. They became members of the First Baptist Church. Maxine was a faithful servant of Christ and has greatly anticipated her reunion with Him on February 19, 2024.
Maxine has continued to be loved by her two daughters, Deborah Mandella and Katherine Dexter, and husbands; four grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, and 26 great-great-grandchildren. She will be remembered with deep love and unspeakable thankfulness for her faithful prayers and her presence in our lives.
