George Ellis BenhamI am a Veteran.

of Benton, AR

December 30, 1938 - February 14, 2024

George Ellis Benham, 85, of Benton, Arkansas passed away while surrounded by his family on February 14, 2024 in Benton.

George was born to Robert and Lottie (Jones) Benham in Brinkley, Arkansas in 1938 and grew up in the rural community of Aubrey with his nine siblings. He attended Marianna High School and began working as a linesman for survey crews. He became a professional surveyor and worked for Affiliated Engineers for more than 40 years where he managed several large projects, including one that brought him and his family to Benton, Arkansas, where he raised his family and lived the rest of his life.

George grew up a time where family was the foundation for life. His relationship with his brothers formed an unbreakable bond that went beyond bloodlines and helped blend families and sew friendships throughout everything they were involved in.

George was a faithful member of Park Place Baptist Church where he took great pride in starting everyone's Sunday morning with a good cup of coffee. He was an avid outdoorsman and cherished his time hunting and fishing with family and friends. When not in the woods, he spent his "Falls" watching Benton Panther and Arkansas Razorback football.

George is survived by two brothers, Bill Benham (Mary) and Don Benham (Romona) both of Benton; seven children, Terry Benham of Benton, Elaine Hodkin (Ellis) of Benton, Victoria Allbritton of Fayetteville, Donna Ashlock (Alan) of Little Rock, Melinda Johnson of Hot Springs, Faith McJunkin (Bobby) of Benton and Billy Ashlock (Candice) of Benton; fifteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Karen; his best friend, Ken Medlock (Billie); seven siblings and one grandchild.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 21st at Park Place Baptist Church in Benton with Pastor Gary Lambright officiating. Visitation begins at 9:00am followed immediately by the Service at 10:00am. Graveside service will be held at 11am at Pine Crest Memorial Park in Alexander, Arkansas. Roller-Alcoa is assisting the family with funeral arrangements. Pallbearers will be Bill Benham, Ken Benham, Chris Benham, Zac Benham, Ethan Ashlock and Brody Overall. Honorary Pallbearers are Randy Benham, Kevin Benham, Alan Burke, Todd Stone and Jax Overall [[]CHURCH FRIENDS].

The family wishes to extend their gratitude for the outpouring of support from all of the lives that George touched. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Park Place Baptist Morning Fund.

I will miss George at the Benton Panther football games where my 3 grandsons played football.
Garrett, Walker and Drew Davis.
Drew is the current starting QB. He followed all of them closely but really liked to see Drew spin the ball.
George was a wonderful and spunky gentleman, along with his brother and Terry.
He was always there at the stadium when the Panthers were playing at home.
He will be missed!
Go Panthers!!
