Thomas McRay Horne, 101, of New Blaine, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 in Clarksville, Arkansas. He was born on October 17, 1922 in New Blaine to his parents, James and Ruth (Swain) Horne.
Thomas was a United States Army Air Corps Veteran having served in WWII. He was a retired jet engine mechanic and the former operational manager at the Shoal Creek Methodist Youth Camp. He was a member of Pioneer Memorial United Methodist Church where he served as a Sunday school teacher.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his two wives, Betty Lou (Sanders) Horne and Imogene Horne; one son, Danny Horn; two sisters, Ora Varnell and Gertrude Sparkman; three brothers, Otis Horne, Boyce Horne and Loyd Horne; one grandson, Daryl Horn; one grandson in law, Troy Biddle and two great-grandsons, Joseph Horn and Baden Biddle.
He is survived by three sons, Howard Horn and wife Donna of Lancaster, California, Charles Horn and wife Vicky of Palmdale, California and Phillip Horn and wife Maggie of Ivins, Utah; one daughter in law, Betsy Horn of American Canyon, California; eight grandchildren, Amanda Biddle, Amy Godde, Wendy Dunbarr, Heather Vasquez, Wesley Horn, Holly Bushrod, Hunter Horn and Clifford Horn; thirteen great grandchildren, Greta Horn, Jared Horn, Devon Biddle, A.J. Vasquez, Hannah Horn, Levi Horn, Avery Bushrod, Calvin Bushrod, Kendell Bushrod, Jacob Horn, J.T. Horn, Harper Horn and Charlee Godde; two nieces, Ruth Michael and Debra Matheus and one nephew, Benny Varnell.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, December 4, 2023 at Pioneer Memorial United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Judy Hall. Burial will follow in Graves Cemetery in Delaware under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris.
Pallbearers will be Garry Binz, Jerry Cravens, Howard Horn, Charlie Horn, Wesley Horn and Dan Michael.

It hurts to hear this news but I know Ray is in a lovely place. How beautiful heaven must be. I enjoyed visiting with him in church, when I played the piano for the Pioneer Methodist Church way back when. He was a special man. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

Sending our deepest sympathy to Ray's family and friends. We will miss him. We knew he was always there. Ray and I go way back. As well as a cousin, he was a good friend of my older brother, Garland, and I was the pesky little sister! He and my husband went fishing and muscadine picking several times over the years. I am so glad I got to visit one last time with Ray in September. He was almost like a brother to my mother when they were growing up. One of my prized possessions is a school desk from the New Blaine school that Ray carved his name in. I miss our trips to Tritt Cemetery and the Horn Cemetery and the many times I stopped to say hello. He was always ready for a visit, and he and my husband really enjoyed talking about his experiences in WWII. My prayers are with all who have lost Ray. He will definitely be missed!

Ray always said my Daddy, Hoyt Johnson, was his best friend. I always thought Daddy was the best man in the world but I believe Ray was running a pretty close race with him. They were both great men and I can see them sitting in heaven swaping stories and laughing. May God bless all of his family.
