Elaine Marie Camel Frazier (83), passed away August 5, 2023 in Conway, AR. She was born August 4, 1940 in Cankton, LA to Velma Mae Savoie and Leopold Camel. She and her siblings were raised in Ville Platte, LA.
Elaine graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Ville Platte and moved to St. Louis, MO where she attended Gradwohl School of Medical Technology. While in St. Louis she met James "Jim" C. Frazier and they married in 1959. They eventually settled in Helena, AR where Jim opened Cline & Frazier Engineering. They raised their 3 sons in Helena and were dedicated communicants of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Elaine was an excellent cook and loved preparing meals for family and friends. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them watching sporting events on TV. Elaine loved tennis and spending time with family and friends at Greers Ferry Lake.
Elaine was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her sweet soul touched the hearts of everyone who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, James Coy Frazier; sons, Scott Paul Frazier and James Martin Frazier and brother, James Joseph Camel. Survivors include son, Robin Ford Frazier (Robin) of Conway, AR; brother, Leopold (Pappy) Camel (Jeanette) of Lafayette, LA; sisters, Sybil Cloutier of Houston TX, Paula Lambert (Harold) of New Roads, LA and Carlene Vidrine (Craig) of Ville Platte, LA as well as 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
There will be a private graveside service in Conway, AR. A memorial service will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Helena, AR on Friday, August 11 at 11:00 am. Officiants at St. Mary's will be Father Gilbert Tairo CSSp and Father James lbeh CSSp.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church 123 Columbia St. Helena, AR 72342 or a charity of your choice.
