Norma  Hamilton
April 5, 1916 - May 29, 2012

Cindy Sanborn

Mazeppa, MN

Dearest Norma,
We on earth have lost a beautiful soul, but oh, what an angel the Lord has received! We only met once, but our short visit and your letters over the past few years have given me a lifetime of lessons to live by and treasure. I loved your stories of your farming years...and we think we have it rough farming these days! Ha! Not even a fair comparison! I appreciate you sharing some of your favorite recipes with me...they are wonderful! I still marvel that you and Amos were married exactly 50 years to the day before my husband Tim and I--October 12, 1940 for you and Amos and October 12, 1990 for Tim and I. It may seem silly, but I think of it as another one of our "connections"! We have all been touched by you Norma in some way or another. I have always admired your strength and positive attitude even when the going was tough. You never let your hardships get in the way of celebrating others' happiness...a true loving and caring person....that's you! I am so blessed to have met you. You will be forever in our hearts! I know Amos and Pat are thrilled that you are home with them. All our love from Minnesota--Tim, Cindy, Taylor and Tanner Sanborn

Bob Barham

Conway, AR

I can't even began to describe how much I loved this woman, Norma Hamilton. She was one of the most gentle-spirited, kindest women I have ever known. I am truly blessed by having known her. She has been a part of my family's life for years. I am saddened by her passing and I will miss her so much, but I also know that she was ready to go be with her Lord and her husband Amos, and daughter Pat. Norma, "thank you" for all your love and kindness. You are a true example of what a Christian should be. One other thing I want to add: For several years now, every time I saw Norma (most recently about 3 weeks ago) she would always say to me "Now honey, you know when I pass on...I want you to carry me." I would always say, now Norma, stop talking like that because you are gonna live forever! She would just grin. :) As I carried her casket at her funeral and burial last Friday, I could hear her voice telling me that, as my eyes filled with tears. But you know...as I thought about this over the weekend, Norma IS living forever. In our hearts, and in Heaven! What a blessing to have known her, been loved by her, and loved her. I love you sweet Norma!!!!

Mrs. Hamilton,
Norma and I will miss seeing you in the office. We were privileged to assist you and Amos with your hearing over the years. You had a most difficult loss to manage, but you always endured, never complaining about your hearing difficulties, and always so pleasant...with such a sweet, sweet spirit. You are now basking in glory, enjoying all the wonders that Heaven has to offer, hearing beautiful music that our earthly ears cannot even imagine.

Conway, AR

I met Mrs. Hamilton where we live in Conway. She was always walking and would stop by and chat with me on the porch and always told me about her husband and daughter. I heard this everytime she visited with me and I always acted as if it were the first time I heard about them. I always tried to warn her about walking too far by herself. A sweet lady.

Although we didn't see her often, t remember lovely visits with my second cousin Norma in four houses over the past 60 years: two in Barney, one in Bee Branch, and one in Conway. In every case she was the most welcoming person in the world, insisting that we stay as long as possible and walking us to the car with wishes to return soon.

In Barney, when she and Amos were farming, she always insisted that we take along some fresh fruit, smoked turkey, or perhaps some homemade wine.

What a wonderful lady!
