Thank you Mary for getting in touch with me... I did know about Her passing, and sent a card, but it was returned to me.. I was unable to attend the visitation and services because that was the week that I was in Fayetteville at my grandsons wedding.. I enjoyed both Terry and Ediths wit and good humor.. I was remiss in viisting her after Terry's passing, but saw her on several occasions and she told me that she had gone on several trips and was enjoying herself..Please accept my condolences for a special lady...Virginia Wright Wednesday, September 19, 2012 |

The world has lost a special lady. We first met Ethel, Terry, and their two young sons at church in Maryland almost 55 years ago. Since they were from Arkansas and I (Shelby) was from Searcy, we immediately connected. They moved away and we lost them for awhile, but found them again years later at Silver Spring Church of Christ. By then only Sherry was still at home, and she and our son were friends. When they retired to Searcy, we enjoyed visiting them when we went back home. Ethel was a wonderful, gracious Christian lady who lived her faith. It takes a special person to care for both her mother and mother-in-law in her home for so many years. She was an excellent teacher, wonderful mother and caring friend to so many. Rest well, dear Ethel. Thursday, June 07, 2012 |

I knew Ethel for such a short time, but she is the sweetest woman I have ever met. Hearing of her death saddened me so because she was cherished by her family and friends. I can only imagine how she was welcomed into Heaven and is with her husband, hand in hand. And today, they are both smiling down at their family who are gathered together. May the Burgess Family be surrounded with love and prayers not only today but forever. Wednesday, May 30, 2012 |
