Mr. Chambers was my math teacher at White Hall. He was the best teacher that I ever had, and I have had many at all levels. Mr. Chambers was smart, logical, kind, patient, fair and hard working. I remember how he worked at Sears in Pine Bluff after getting off from work at White Hall. He taught us math, but also that we could make it if we worked hard like him. His classes were calm. The world needs more calm classes, calm homes, and Mr. Chambers. When I took Algebra at UAF, I was fearful that I wouldn't be able to compete. Not only could I compete, it was easy. Mr. Chambers had prepared me for this and life. Thank you, Mr. Chambers. Others may leave buildings, you have left a living legacy. I hope you took that big compass to heaven with you.

Bill had an easy sense of humor and a knack of making you feel like you and he had been lifelong pals. He was a true credit to the education profession, and a role model as a husband, father, community leader and friend.
