Tom  Glaze
January 14, 1938 - March 30, 2012

James (JIM) Stanley, Jr.

NLR, AR

Dear GLAZE family,

Everyone who knew Tom liked him. I am proud he was my friend. No matter if he was playing baseball or serving as a Judge, Tom was a stand-out! It is interesting to compare the LEGAL PROFESSION and SPORTS -- as LAW is the only game where the 'best players' get to sit on 'the bench!'
My condolences to Phyllis, the children, grandchildren and all of Tom's Joplin, Missouri clan (where we BOTH had a link back to that town.)

Audrey Burtrum-Stanley

AR

There is a bond between folks who come from the same town; they discuss favorite places, people they know in common and just enjoy talking about the place without having to draw-a-map or explain the cast of characters. Such was my relationship with TOM GLAZE (and all the Glaze boys) and Joplin, Missouri - our hometown. Our families were always entwined -- through cars and sports and shared good times. It was truly a delight to discover we had both settled in NLR (small world!)
Tom was a wonderful young boy - and an even more grand, good and wise man. I will not forget him...
My sympathies to his family - how blessed they were to have him in their lives!

Phyllis, Julie, and Steve,

I would like to send a donation to the AR Food Bank as a memorial for Tom.

I don't know how to contact you. Is there any way I could get your addresses?

I was one of the fortunate ones who was mentored by Tom while I was going through a very rough time in my like. I so appreciated his patient support then, and he continued to be my friend from then on.

We have lost a major champion in our community, Bless you all!! My thoughts and prayers are with you .

We have known Tom since Junior High School in Joplin and have admired him so much for his great personality and many lifetime accomplishments. From early on, Tom made a difference in this world and we are happy that we were here to see some of them. Our deepest sorrow to his family and many friends.

A truly considerate and unselfish person..... Always concerned about others. Tom's wonderful influence on the lives of so many will continue for generatiions; and the level of respect that is felt for Tom , by so many, is rarely acheived. Asked if we owe much to Tom; we would all raise our hands.
My condolances to Phyllis and the family.

Steve and Family:

Greatly saddened by the loss of Tom. What a great man and a "good" man which is more important. He was always a friend to me and I will always remember that "look" he would give me from time to time which you have all seen more than me....that look of irony as he smiled a little and asked me a question as to what stupid thing I might be up to now. Great sense of humor and a great coach. Best one I ever had. But above all else and always a friend who genuinely cared about me. What else could I have asked for? I share in your grief and I wish you all peace. RAL

Mike Cusack

Nome, AK

Tom was a fierce competitor in sports while in high school in Joplin, Missouri. The coaching that he received from Russ Kaminsky and Gordon Long must have influenced Tom's outstanding career. Tom will always be remembered.
Tom is going to a great place to continue his work.

Dear Phyllis and family -- Just a note to express my sympathies.. Tom served on the Board of Directors for the Parent Center. I was the First Executive Director and he was a major supporter of the Center as well as of me personally. I always appreciated his contribution and support. Yours in Christ. Mary
